One of the causes of medical problems related to the regulation of the immune system in autism is the diversity of species and numerical imbalances in the bacteria that are members of the microbiota and have roles in immune modulation within the gut microbiota.

From this perspective; by correcting the imbalances in the bacteria that play a role in regulating the immune system, in general, and specifically in the intestinal microbiome profile, it is possible to contribute to the repair of problems in the immune system.

Additionally, the widespread activation of inflammation and the uncontrolled activation of oxidative stress and nitrosamide stress pathways, which emerge as a result, play roles in both the regulation of immune system responses and the development of autoimmune diseases, as well as in the formation of unwanted antibody responses (autoantibodies). Controlling and halting the activation of these pathways can undoubtedly have restorative effects in the regulation and control of immune responses and functional disorders observed in autism.
