Research
Prof. Dr. Recep KEŞLİ has completed 7 R&D projects, which were Experimental Animal Modeling Studies on Autism.
He reached important scientific results on neuro-immunopathological changes that
occur in the brain in autism and the prevention and improvement of these
changes. Some of these are the following:
He completed the R&D project titled “Comparison of the Effectiveness of
Treatment Methods in the Rat Autism Model Created with Valproic Acid” for
his doctoral thesis in Medical Biology and Genetics.
He completed his Master’s thesis titled “Evaluation of Microglia Activation,
Neuroinflammation, and Neuronal Loss in Rat Autism Model Created Experimentally
with Propionic Acid” while supervising the Department of Medical
Microbiology.
He completed the R&D project titled ‘’Determination of Intestinal
Microbiome Profiles of Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in All
Regions of Turkey by Using the Next Generation Sequence Analysis Method: Turkey
Projection’’ with the support of KOS-GEB, which was the first in Turkey.
He has studies and scientific reviews in the fields of Human Intestinal Microbiota
Profile Analysis Interpretation Report and Regulation, Determination and Repair
of Intestinal-Blood Barrier and Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability, Inflammation
Control, Oxidative Stress Control, Investigation of Toxic Metal Levels and
Ensuring Their Excretion.
He has studies and scientific investigations in the fields of Human Intestinal
Microbiota Profile Analysis Interpretation Report and Regulation,
Intestinal-Blood Barrier and Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability Determination and
Repair, Inflammation control, Oxidative stress control, Investigation of toxic
metal levels and their excretion.
Further Information
He served as a lecturer in Turkish and English medical faculties of many
universities in Turkey for approximately 29 years.
To date, he has worked as a manager and researcher in more than 40 R&D projects. He has served as a consultant, panelist and referee in dozens of TUBITAK projects.
Dr. KEŞLİ serves as Editor, Associate Editor, and Editorial Board Member in 8
international scientific journals.

auspices of the University of Birmingham, England, under the directorship of
Prof. Cal Mac Lennan, is ongoing as of

He has published a total of 85 articles, 60 of which are in international journals.
A total of 150 congress proceedings, 95 of which are international.
He has authorship of a Turkish book, chapter authorship in an international book, and
chapter authorship in 4 Turkish books.
He has been the chairman of dozens of congresses, seminars, symposium sessions,
and speeches titled Autism Medical Holistic View in Turkey and abroad.
He has served as the president of several congresses and symposiums on autism and microbiota.
He is currently a lecturer at Biruni University, Faculty of Pharmacy.
He continues his R&D and P&D studies within Biruni Teknopark.
