I will share information that should be considered when using probiotics, or rather, when using probiotics.

1. The codes of the strains of bacteria contained in the probiotic product should be known and declared on the product. For example: Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG- B12, here B12 is the strain code of the bacteria. The strain code of the bacterium is the main criterion that determines the metabolic effect it will have in the human body. The unknown nature of this code will bring uncertainties regarding its potential impact. The strain code must be known and declared.

2. The number of bacteria inside should be known and should be sufficient according to the child’s age.

3. The use of probiotics alone is not appropriate; they should be used in conjunction with a prebiotic, or the probiotic product should also contain a prebiotic. Using probiotics continuously on their own damages the gut microbiota and causes further disruption of the microbiota balance.

4. Continuous use of probiotics for 12 months without interruption is not appropriate. The ideal duration is to use it for 8 weeks or 12 weeks and then to take a sufficient break.

5. Probiotics containing live bacteria should be stored and transported according to the cold chain.

6. If microbiota disorders are bacterial in nature, a probiotic containing bacteria should be used for their repair. Using probiotics containing yeast for bacterial imbalances is not a suitable match.

7. The most accurate and purpose-appropriate probiotic should be used. A random probiotic should not be chosen. For this, probiotic recommendations should be made by a medical doctor who is well-versed in the bacteria in probiotics and their effects on the body.

There is no success through chance and trial, and it is also not healthy.
