The diagnosis of autism can be made through face-to-face interviews and evaluations by child and adolescent psychiatrists. An Autism Behavior Scale should be conducted. Additionally, after diagnosis, the severity of autism can be graded using the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) (mild, moderate, severe).
There are a wide variety of Autism Behavior Scales. The most efficient way to conduct scale applications is through face-to-face interviews by experienced experts. With these scales, the aim is to conduct evaluations under five main headings in children;
• Cognitive skills
• Language and speech skills
• Social and emotional skills
• Fine motor skills
• Gross motor skills
